Reflections of Christ

Some of you may have heard about this exhibit at the Mesa, AZ Temple Visitor's Center. My cousin sent me a link to the photographer's blog where he has posted a video of his work for this exhibit. It's amazing and very inspiring!!!
Go to this website: http://mabrystudios.typepad.com/mark_mabry_photography/ and watch the video under the Happy Easter post. Dated in March I think.

Jacob loves dogs!

Jacob absolutely loves dogs! This is him with Moby, Tara & Lili. He's usually a little bit nervous to pet them when they are bigger than him or try to lick him. But after being around Moby & Ferris for 4 days he got pretty comfortable with them. He learned how to tell them to sit and shake. He loved saying no to them when they were doing something he though they shouldn't. We tried really hard to teach him their names, but he wouldn't say them. He does know my parents' dog name and always asks to see "baba." Pretty cute! We will definitely be getting a dog when we move.

Jacob & Lili

These two were so funny to watch play together. Lili is almost a whole year younger than Jacob but she could sure hold her own with him. She pulled his hair when he made her upset. They fought over a shovel and books and cups. Lili loved to watch Jacob wherever he went. She always wanted to see what he was doing, and Jacob liked to give her hugs and kisses.

Fruita, CO

We finally got away for a little family vacation this past weekend. We made our way to Fruita, CO. I'm sure some of you are saying uh???? Fruita has awesome mountain biking trails so that is our reason for venturing there a couple of times a year. The weather was nice for the most part. A little cold on Friday but warmed up for the rest of our trip. We even had the luxury of a hot shower every day since we didn't camp this time. Ryan (Jarom's brother), Tara, Lili, & dogs joined us too so we took turns babysitting to get some riding in.

Sleepless in Sandy

For those of you who don't know this about Jacob, sleep has been a battle since we brought him home from the hospital. Even at 19 months old he still wakes up during the night a couple of times a week. These are usually no big deal, we just put him back in bed and all's well til morning. Then there was last night.......
8:30 pm I got him in his PJ's and read stories then put him in his bed.
9:30 pm I've been in and out of his room for an hour but he's still crying or just sticking his fingers under the door and giggling.
10:00 pm Jarom finally gets him to sleep.
1:00 am I wake up to Jacob crying pretty hard. When I go in his room he's stuck in between the toybox and some other things (yes he sleeps in a toddler bed and gets out of his bed quite often in the middle of the night which is another story). I try putting him back in his bed but he freaks out so I take him to our room.
2:30 am Jacob has been rolling around every way he can think of and has not gone back to sleep completely so I take him back to his bed and he falls asleep instantly.
4:30 am I get a visitor at my bedside so I pop him up next to me hoping he'll fall asleep quickly. Not so for this little guy. He starts rolling side to side as fast as he can like it's some kind of game so I take him back to his bed where he rolls around in there for a good half hour while I lay on the floor to avoid a crying fit.
6:30 am Jacob's crying again but this time stays in his bed.
7:00 am Time to play!!!!!!!

Silly Jacob!

Jacob got these from his friend Ellie. It's hard to tell, but he's grinning pretty big. He thought these glasses were pretty cool!

I don't have a picture for this story, but it's a good one. Jacob always has a phrase that he uses for anything. Sometimes it's wow or uh oh or whoa. Lately it's been "oh no." Well a couple of days ago I went in to get him up from his nap, and he'd been sleeping on his hands so they were asleep. When he tried to use them he got the most concerned look on his face and said, "oh no, mommy." He tried opening and closing them and kept saying, "oh no, oh no, oh no." I was laughing my head off, but he was so worried about his hands.

Happy Easter!

I tried so hard to get Jacob to stand still long enough for me to get a picture of him before we went to church on Sunday. It was mission impossible, and I gave up. He wouldn't even look at me when his dad was holding him. He acted like we were torturing him.

The Eater bunny brought Jacob some new wheels or as he calls it--a car.
