Wow, I have a two year old. Even though some days feel like they will never end, the past two years have flown by. Jacob is such a sweet kid, and I feel so blessed to be his mom. Here's a little bit about him at 2 years old:
FAVORITE THINGS TO DO: INSIDE: play cars, read books, watch Curious George, Diego or the Letter Factory, play with animals, play tag and he is never IT. OUTSIDE: push his big dump truck all over, ride his bike, swim, throw rocks in the water, swing, go to the park.
FAVORITE FOODS: milk, pizza, cheese, turkey sandwiches, peaches, berries (any kind), hummus, ice cream.
OTHER: He is a chatterbox. He can pretty much tell us anything he wants or needs. He likes to talk about animals like zebras, elephants, tigers, lions, monkeys, or any farm animals. He likes to sing songs especially Old McDonald Had a Farm. He likes to dance especially for other people besides mom and dad. He LOVES babies and is so sweet with them. He always has hugs and kisses for any baby he sees even if it's just a picture. He likes to be tickled especially by his dad. He LOVES to brush his teeth. I am having a brain cramp and can't remember anything else.
A FUNNY STORY: Last weekend we went hiking up to a place called Red Pine Lake. When we got to the lake of course Jacob wanted to throw rocks in the water so that's what we were doing. He decided he wanted to stand on this big rock to throw his rocks so I followed him down there to make sure he was ok. Then my reaction time went into slow motion as I watched Jacob lose his footing and slide down the rock into the water. He didn't go under the water (it was pretty shallow) thank goodness, but he was quite surprised. It was so funny!!!! We stripped him down to his diaper so he wouldn't be too cold then all he could talk about for the rest of our hike was how he fell in the water. Also on the hike we had this conversation:
Jarom: Amy, where's your extra diapers?
Amy: I forgot to stick it in the pack, so it's in the car.
About five minutes later: Jacob: Amy, where's the diaper?
Like all mothers I could go on and on about Jacob. I am really grateful to have him in our family, and I hope that I get to celebrate many more birthdays with him. I love you Jacob!

Hmmm
What do you do when the crazy guy you bought your house from refuses to leave? Yes you read it right--the crazy guy we bought our house from will not leave. I need to vent so here it goes.
MAY: Contract is agreed on which includes a contingency on the sale of our condo.
JUNE: Buyers back out on the condo. Crazy owner guy freaks out and wants us to do an inspection to show our commitment. We go ahead and do the inspection to pacify him. We really had no idea how crazy this guy is at this point.
JULY: Contract on house expires with no contract on the condo. Crazy guy is reluctant to sign the extension. He wanted us to commit to closing at the end of the extension even if the condo wasn't sold. Well, uh, no. We can't afford to take that kind of risk. He tried a couple of other tactics that weren't in our interest so we just said no and it's not a big deal for us to find another house. Crazy guy finally gives in at the end of the night and agrees to a 30 day extension.
AUGUST: New contract on the condo is signed so we push everything through to get things closed ASAP. Crazy guy originally wanted to close in 3 weeks but freaked out when we actually had the closing scheduled at the 3 week mark. He even went as far as to say his title company couldn't get him to sign papers until 2 days after we signed. Crazy guy freaked out over a closing cost issue aka $900. The guy is making over $100,000 on this sale and he made a big hoopla over $900. So the contract states he has 24 hours after closing to be out of the house which was noon yesterday. He is still there. HELLO---Get the **** out of my house!!!!!! He even had the nerve to say this to our realtor: "I'm emotionally attached to this house, and I don't want them moving in." Are you kidding me? Give us our money back and we'll find another house. He's still refusing to leave but says he will be out by tomorrow morning. If this were someone who was nice and easy to work with we would have no problem giving them more time. But this guy is seriously CRAZY!!!!!!!!!

Life's about to get a little crazy!
I'm starting school. We are not only moving but also remodeling the home we're buying. My goal is to not go too crazy without a kitchen for a month or so and to keep Jarom from having a heart attack. Jacob is having a birthday next week. Jarom and I celebrate our 4th anniversary in a few weeks. College football starts next week too. So if I disappear from the blogging world for awhile you all know why. I will do my best to check in sometimes.
Moving
Yes we are finally moving. At least I'm 99% sure we are moving. It's been a long 6 months to get to this point. We close on the sale of the condo on Friday morning and the purchase of our new/old home on Monday. Now that it's finally happening, I'm having bittersweet feelings. The condo is my first home with Jarom, Jacob's first home, and has lots of memories. I thought I would list the things I will miss and the things I will not miss--just for fun and for me to look back on in years to come.
THINGS I WILL NOT MISS:
*feeling like I'm in a dungeon
*crab apple tree
*lawn mower going every Wednesday during Jacob's nap
*neighbor that comes home drunk every afternoon about 4:30 pm (at least he's not driving)
*neighbor who sits outside smoking and beckons Jacob to come say hi (I'm too nice to tell him not to smoke in front of my child. Luckily Jacob is a little bit scared of the man.)
*neighbor who leaves her trash outside her front door for multiple days in a row (I don't know how many times I've thrown it away for her.)
*no yard
*street light outside our bedroom window (I haven't slept in the dark in almost 4 years)
*no garage
*not enough space for our "stuff"
*cleaning the slate floor
*mirrored closet doors
THINGS I WILL MISS
*swimming pool right outside my front door
*having the lawn mowed
*gold's gym is two blocks away
*Macey's is three blocks away
*play group
*my primary kids (not teaching just the kids)
*friends in the ward

First Day of School
I haven't had one of these in 6 years!!! I start class tonight at 5:30 pm. I was registered for two classes, but the thought of managing two classes and normal life was too stressful so I dropped the math class for now. It makes me grateful that I was able to get through my first bachelor's degree before I got married and had children. I think I would probably have been a college dropout if I'd had kids while in college the first time around. So I'm on my way to becoming a nurse even if it is at a snail's pace!!!!

Bear Lake
We spent the weekend at Bear Lake with Jarom's family. The weather was great and the scenery beautiful. It is such a fun place to visit, and I have loved it every time I've been there. We went swimming, played at the beach, played on the playground, ate good food. Jarom went golfing with his brothers and dad. Jacob had a good time and was very worn out!
