Spring Fever

I think Jacob has it. He's wanted to play outside everyday this week. His favorite thing to do is push this dump truck "up the hill and down the hill really faster." He gets carried away sometimes and goes past our house. The other day I had to chase him all the way down the street. One of our neighbors even ran out to help me catch him-silly kid! I think he's learned though that he can't go past our house without me or dad.

Other cuteness: We have been working with Jacob to get him to say his prayers without us telling him everything to say. So he likes to stick in his own two cents when there's something on his mind that we haven't covered. Last night he said, "And please help me get a Lightening Mcqueen Car." (His dad promised to buy him one as soon as he learns to use the potty). I had to stifle my giggle. It's so sweet to listen to him though.

Things I'm Lovin Right Now...

Saw this on a friend's blog and thought it was cute. I certainly love all the people in my life, but there are some things that are just for me that make me happy.

1. A HOT BATH sometimes with bubbles, sometimes with a good book, sometimes just me. It is my favorite way to wind down at night, and I am having major withdrawals. I have not had one of these in about 6 months since we don't have a bathtub right now. Hot showers just don't do the trick. We've been shopping this week for a tub for our bathroom upstairs, and Jarom is making sure we get a soaking tub. He LOVES me!

2. SWEET'S CANDY I can only buy a scoop or two when I go grocery shopping because I eat all of it the same day. Jarom never even knows we have it half the time LOL. LOVE all of it, and the months between Easter and Halloween get long when I need some SWEET's.

3. SPIN CLASS There's nothing like spinning and sweating to some good music. Almost as good as riding outside.

4. NEW TOY This is a belated Christmas present that Jarom surprised me with last night--an electronic keyboard. I wish we had room for a piano, but we don't so I take second best. I don't know if my parents will believe this, but I really enjoy playing the piano and have missed it for about 10 years. Thanks for all the lessons!!!!

5. ELECTRIC BLANKET I love it!!!! Again hubby sure knows how to make me happy.

6. SUMMER PLANS Our summer is already filling up fast, and I can't wait. Really I'll be glad when spring is here.

I have no idea where or why this picture was taken. It was obviously in the winter. Maybe we were just outside playing in the snow.

**A few days ago Jacob found one of his baby toys. I kept telling him it was for babies, and he'd say, "Let's go get a baby so I can give it to her." I asked him where he thought we could find a baby. His reply, "At the store." If only it were that easy.
**Yesterday Jacob grabbed a bag of rice from the storage room, told his dad to "stay there", and that he was going upstairs to make dinner. Awhile later I was in the kitchen for something and discovered our "dinner" in the oven. He'd turned the oven light on, opened the door, and stuck the rice inside.

Things that are hard to say no to:
When he grabs a blanket and pillow and says, "Come snuggle me, Mom." Rare so I eat it up!
Any request that is followed by, "Pease, pretty pease and cherry on top."

I sure do love him even when he vomits all over my kitchen floor 15 minutes before Jarom's breakfast meeting with the young men starts.

so I am going to absorb myself in my RS lesson for Sunday and To Kill a Mockingbird.

He's growing up

and there's nothing I can do to slow it down. Yesterday during sacrament meeting, Jacob noticed that the girl bearing her testimony was crying. He said, "Mom, she's sad." I'm certain he would have ran up to the stand to give her a hug if I'd let him. It was a great teaching moment, but I'm not quite sure how you help a two year old understand that sometimes we cry when we're happy too.

Just a few minutes ago, he said, "Mom where's your husband?" I told him I didn't know. Jacob said, "He went to work." Last night while he was jumping around on the furniture he yelled, "Mom, I'm going to jump on your husband!" Jarom was laying on the floor. So cute and funny!!!!
